I had a 1968 four door Chevelle with a black interior that I bought brand new in 1968. When I got the car, the black interior was actually black with a white strip down the middle of the front and back seat. There may have been a white stripe on the door panels too but I'm not sure. I have never seen another one like it at any car show, chevy/vette fest, etc. Does anyone know where I might be able to find a picture of that interior or a chart showing the 1968 interiors? Thanks.

This is a pic (http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/temp69300bkst.jpg) of a 69 back seat. Is it similar to what you had in you 68? This is in a 300 deluxe. Don't know if the design was standard for the 300 or if it was an option. The door panels are different from the Malibu but don't have a stripe, however 68s could have a stripe.

Barb,

I've owned a brand new '68 300 Deluxe that had exactly what you're talking about. In '68 there were actually 3 stripes together about 3-4" in width total.

Mine on this 300 are long gone. However, you're correct on the door panels. Here's a picture of mine.

Sorry to bring back an old post but where did you get those seats! I haven't got my chevelle yet but its coming soon and I want diferent seats when I do the interior, I think the stock ones are ugly and im not doing a perfect restoration.
