Ok guys, I have no idea what to paint my car. I want something nice as it will be a show car too. I'm leaning towards maybe a deep bluish/purple color or deep bluish/black color. Any suggestions or pics are welcomed. Also if you can give me the paint code and make. Thanks!

Hello Rickie, something you might consider--these older cars have alot of trim from the factory, and usually metalic colors go really well with the trim or basic colors such as solid reds, whites, blacks etc. I would avoid any of the odd 80's colors like peach, plums, avocado, teal, pink etc.---unless you paint all of the trim too. In my opinion I'd paint it with a color that was alittle similar to what was offered by the factory but with more pizzaz. You mentioned you are thinking of a dark purple of blue--they are nice and similar to some of the tones offered years ago. Cruise the new car lots and find something you like--most of the colors nowadays have three dimensional metalics and pearls in the colors and are easy to spray and repair--which brings up another topic---if repairability is of any concern---don not use a three stage color or candy--these can be very frustrating to repair and not every shop will have the capability. My two cents--hope it narrows your search. Bob

Rickie, I like the factory colors. I decided to go with the original color of my car, Granada Gold. I posted the pictures '67 Ragtop Granada Gold (http://www.chevelles.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=007673)

Yeah I think i'll go look at some of the newer car colors and see what i can find. Dodge puts out a beautiful dark blue that I'd love to paint it. I just can't find the paint color anywhere.

Check the elkky in my signature color is a 95 Chevy truck radar blue. Originally this color is more purple trhan blue ,but if you have the paint shop mix in a little more metal flake it lightens it to a more blueish tint and the color shift in different lights is more dramatic.
Email me and tomorrow I can send you some different shots that showoff the shift better

Do yourself a favor and buy a chip book.. Pick a manufacturer, and get a sample book.. I kinda prefer House of Kolors :D
