will a 65 chevelle 4 barrel air cleaner fit on a 66 qjet?

Q-jet takes a 5 1/8" base air cleaner. A 65 4-bbl is about 4" and 7/32? If you want to keep your 65 style air cleaner top on a q-jet, look for a 65-66 Cadillac air filter housing. They had the old style flat base like earlier Chevys, on top of a quadrajet. The flat Caddy base will also fit Holley carbs.
