I currently have a leak I can't find.On a good down pour my carpet gets wet right around where the kick panel and door meet by the sill plate.I have installed all new weather stripping doors, roofrail, etc. The only thing I havn't replaced is the cowl to hood seal.Could it possibly be a bad seal on the inside of the kick panel?
My 69 post car has a leak in the windshield and always gets the floor wet by the kick panel(only when I wash it)...ALbert

So you think it might be coming in the windshield?I know before I put the kick panels back in water would come in through the big hole where the vent on the kick panel would go through,I;m thinking maybe I need to take those off and reseal them.

On my Sprint the drainage from the kick panel area was completely blocked, if I washed the car (we don't get much for "good downpours" here in San Diego!) I'd get water back up in the floor area. I ran a hose down the cowl area and let it run, then used a long piece of flexible metal (like a coat hanger only longer) and ran up from the back of the rockers. I was amazed at the junk that came out of there...

I'll check that. But its only on a good down pour and it has a cover on it(its a cheaper one and it doesn't repel water). The drivers side was wet from the top of the carpet by the dimmer switch down to right behind the kick panel by the door. The other side was the same except it was only right around behind the kick panel.Thats why I think it might be the kick panels need to be resealed. They had a workable putty type of substance on them from the factory, anybody know what this might be or what I can use?

When I did mine, I used THIS (http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/parts/caulks-sealants/97741.htm) . I still have some left over if you want it, but it's pretty cheap (like 5 bucks) so it may pay to buy it and ship you own...

Do you think a auto paint store would carry this?

I'm pretty sure plumber's putty has been used before...You should be able to search and find it. It seems like I remember alot of people here using it.
Hope this helps,

You might find some at an RV supply store...

Wekk I found the putty tape.Had to go to and RV/camper dealer about 15 miles down the road.I put it around the hole where the kick panels go and on the kick panels themselves and made all where there and tight. So I just have to wait for it to rain and see what happens. Thanks for the tip.
