Steven,
No difference between the elky and the chevelle clip - same/same. The 65 and 64 don't share the same hood or fenders. I don't know about the supports. However, I'm almost 100% sure you can put a 65 front clip on a 64 and vice versa. Let's get some more opinions.

Inner wheel wells are different, core support is diff but doors are the same. So the body lines would match, and the clip would swap over aslong as you have the entire clip you can swap them over...Eric

Thats right as far as the 64 to 65 chevelle swap is concerned. My 64 has a complete 65 front clip.

Steven,

The radiator supports are different. The 64 doesn't use bushings at the frame mounts, the 65 does. This makes the 65 shorter in height. The 64 has holes behind the headlights for the wiring, the 65 doesn't and would interfere with the connector on back of the high beam lamps.

The 64 El Camino fenders are the same as the 64 base model 300. The 64 Malibu and 64 SS fenders have additional holes for the side trim. The hood, radiator support, grille, valance, and wheel houses are the same for all models with the exception that the SS grille is painted differently.

The 65 front clip will mount onto a 64 with no problems when using the 65 radiator support. The fenders, hood, grille, and valance are visibly different at the front edges, more pointed. The 65 wheelhouse is the same as the 64.

Steven, A friend installed a compleat 65 clip from a 300 post car on his 64 Elky a few years back with no Prob. I don't think there is any individual parts that will interchange. Not even hood hindges or letters. I still have lots of his old 64 parts he gave me. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

If you plan on driving it on the street, I wouldn't use the fiberglass one piece clip. You'll miss having wheelhouses to keep the dirt, rocks, and crud off of the engine and firewall. You also may not be satisfied with the finish of the fiberglass fenders, or they will require more bodywork/blocksanding to get them to look nice. Without the wheelhouses, you may throw up rocks and cause cracks from the underside. Those clips are for drag cars that don't see street duty. I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't do it.

- I talked to GlassTek, they said if I can hold off till end of March, they will have a Heavy Duty 64 Chevelle/Malibu/El Camino, Front fender of Street use..
After do ing a search it seem that everyone likes GlassTeck.

They said they would send me a Cataloge..

VFN Fiberglass sells the inner Fenders(Unless GlassTeck sell them also), I will pick them up from them: http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/6465chevelle.htm

Guys, I have a full front clip for a 65 - in the Atlanta, GA area. It is not perfect, but very useable.
