: voodoo solid rollers?udharold
orange2 Mar 30th, 05, 2:20 PM dropped a lifter roller and took the cam. was thinking of going to a hydro roller but have decided not to unless I can get one that will equal the performance of the 502a2lun that you recommended a while back. Also when will the voodoo rollers be available? I want to get this fixd as soon as possible. Will a new voodoo be alot better than the a2? This is going in a 10.25-1 comp 454, 781 heads victor jr with a 830 holley, 4 speed 4.56 gears, max street car that is driven quite a bit but is just a toy. I want as much power as it had before if not more. I loved the 50231 that was in it, some say it was overcammed and maybe it was, but it ran great. Will consider a hydro if it will meet the performance it had before.

Get a hold of Mike (wolfplace) and get Isky red zones. You won't be sorry
orange2 Mar 31st, 05, 10:37 PM Yea was going to do it since I got the car, just never got around too it. Hopefully this lesson won't be too spendy, just cam and lifters, but I haven't got the pan off yet. Car was driven a couple times this winter, now realize how important it is to pay better attention to certain noises from my valvetrain. It never ticked bad or anything, but I could hear a change, had just got off the phone with a guy about checking everything out for me, I don't know how to check lash very well. I feel more comfy having my engine guy do it.
UDHarold Mar 31st, 05, 11:22 PM The Lunati 502A2LUN is a proven cam design, in hundreds of BBCs, as well as SBCs and other engines---It's a favorite of mine for the 351C...
It's VooDoo equivalent(No part number yet) is 5°-7° shorter at .020", the same size at .050"(255/263), and .050" higher in gross lift, .060" higher in net lift. The difference will be a big, across-the-board, power gain. We are dyno-testing in a ZZ502 with Canfield 310s within 10-14 days.
After the dyno-testing, and weeks of spread-sheet writing, part numbers will be issued, cams made for sale, etc. All SBC and BBC VooDoo street rollers with be billet cores with EverWear gears, not requiring bronze gears.
They will cover the range from 261° at .020, 231° at .050, and .370" lobe lift, up to 293° at .020, 263° at .050, and .400" lobe lift. The smaller cams may be on 112° LSA, the larger will definitely be on 110° LSA. They alll have identical dynamics, and shut the valve softer than the 502A2.......

orange2 Mar 31st, 05, 11:50 PM can't wait that long, guess I will have to do the voodoo next time around.
zwede Mar 31st, 05, 11:50 PM Harold: Any info on the voodoo hydraulic rollers yet? Primarily BBC.
UDHarold Apr 1st, 05, 12:15 AM Everything on the VooDoo hydraulic roller lines have been done. There are a total of 31 different part numbers, for SBCs, BBCs, LS1s, SBFs, and the 340C.
When the new part numbers are approved, then things start flowing out.
We are submitting our final reports tomorrow.
