I just did a quick search on this topic.... and didn't find the answer I was looking for. graemlins/clonk.gif
My question is.....
Do you have to remove the tail light extension on a '67 to replace the lens?
I have the 4 nuts off (from inside the trunk) which appear to hold the extension in place but that bad boy isn't budging.

Thanks,

not sure about a 67, but on my 68 there is a gasket in between the extention and the panel. Could it just be the gasket sticking? Don't go all out prying on it because i am not sure about '67.

yes, the extensions have to come off. the nuts to the chrome that holds the lens on is between the extension and the trunk. may have to pull the chrome trim that runs from tail tight to tail light as well. HTH. Dave

Don't forget to drop the bumper as well! All in all it is a long way to go for such a seemingly simple thing. It may be faster to drop the bumper brackets at the frame than to mess with the extra bolts at the bumper itself.

That's what I was afraid of... what looks to be simple, turns into a major undertaking.
I've tried tapping the 4 bolts from inside the trunk with no luck. Should I be tring to gently pry the extension off from the outside? I'm afraid of damaging the paint.
Cam, as for the bumper... is it really something that has to be done? It looks like the extensions would come off easier if it were off but I really don't feel like getting that deep into it.

Thanks,
