Hello,
I have a 68 SS that recently started making some noises under the hood.
Heres the first one:
It's a clattering-knocking kinda sound. It only is noticable when it's idleing
and in gear. When I put it in neutral the sound diminishes significantly...I can bearly hear it. When I'm driving I can't hear it...only when I'm stopped.
Noise #2:
This one only happens when the engine has warmed up (after driving at normal speeds for 10 minutes or so). It's a loud buzzing sound that is emanating from the rear center of the engine (distributor?). If I rev the engine (goose it real quick) sometimes it stops, but it always comes back after a minute or so. Power steering fluid is at full.
Any ideas?
I recently acquired this car, and I'm still learning so if it seems like an obvious problem, I'd appreciate any comments anyway! Oh, and it idles
really rough...takes a few trys to get it started (have to pump the peddle
a lot).
Info:
68 SS 396, 350 auto
wish I could tell ya more, but like I said, I'm still learning...
Thanks!
TJ
