I couldn't find anything under search, but basically, will a 70 Malibu(flat) hood have the clearance for a big block underneath it? Just wondering if I'm going to have to spend the money on a cowl hood or not.

yes it should fit unless u got one extremmely tall intake.... i got a buddy of mine hes got a big block 454 in a 72 malibu

It'll fit. I was running a 454 with a Performer intake and an 1" nitrous plate, and it fit with a standard drop-base air cleaner with a 3" element on my '72.

Yes. Remember that in 70 you could get a 402 in non SS cars.
