replaced the rear springs on 64 Malibu with new moog's. the passenger side sets 1 inch lower than drivers side at the rear measured at the wheel well lip. have measured the componants from under the car and do not understand what is causing this. it is an air car and the compressor and the battery are on the passenger side front. the front sets within an 1/2 inch of level measured at the wheel well lip. is this normal?
i am a detail person and the difference of one inch at the rear is not acceptable.
any suggestions would be appreciated.
also, all body bushings are new poly.

A number of simple things can cause this problem. First off ... how long ago did you replace the rear springs. If it's been less than a week, you'll have to let them sit a little while, coil springs have a habit of looking a bit goofy at first, but then after you drive it a little bit and then go back, they just might even out. Also, when you tightened the suspension bolts (including hte lower shock bolts), did you have the suspension loaded, i.e. the car on the ground or was it hanging? If it was hanging, loosen them all a bit, then set it on the ground and torque them. If you torque them with the suspension "unloaded" then you can bind bushings which can lead to uneven ride height.
Finally, make sure you are measuring from the frame rail or under body to the ground and not using something like the rear bumper.

Its so easy to replace rear springs, if it was my car I would swap the springs side to side if the sag switched sides also you would know that the springs are the problem and go from there.

Did you replace the front springs also? Having a front spring out of the spring pocket will cause that too.
