The heater doesn't work in my '69 Malibu. I tested the blower by putting 12v right on the contact and it run fine. I traced the problem back to what I beleive is the switch that sits on top of the sliders in the dash. (I grabbed it and it just fell out.) How/where can I get a replacement and how do you work on that thing! It seems impossible to get to.

Oh yeah. One more question about this. When putting the heater core cover back on, what kind of sealing stuff should I use. It looked like it was removed at least once before and all kinds of stupid stuff was used. As near as I can tell, the original stuff may have been a gray putty like material, similar to window glazing. Any thoughts?

Try Original Parts group or Year One. I think that they have seals for the box.
