I see two slots on my 71 Chevelle/Malibu that are under the rear bumper, towards the outside...If y'all don't know what I'm talking about I'll take a pic tomorrow.

There is a rear valance panel that mounts under the bumper, but I think the slots you are talking about are for two small rubber 'bumpers' that are about 1" Square.

By looking at the pics you posted in bench racing i think you are referring to the area where the bumper jack would go.
