I bought a CVR mini starter to replace the starter i have now. The mini starter has 2 bolts, one covered by a rubber cap and an exposed one. Both bolts are the same size, big enough for the battery cable to connect. My old solenoid had a large bolt and 2 smaller bolts for connecting the wires from the ignition. My question is, how do i hook up these small wires to the solenoid? Do i have to by larger connecters and put them on the ends of the wires? And where does each wire connect?

Did any instructions come with it?
Are you still using the original resistive wire to feed power to the coil?
What year is the car?

its a '71 chevelle, im using the smae wires that came with the car when i bought it a few years ago, but cant be sure if they're the originals. The only instructions it came with were for meshing the teeth of the flywheel with the stater pinion.

I should have asked, do you have the original old style distributor or has it been replaced with an HEI or some other distributor?

The bottom of the two connections in the pic gets the battery cable, the top gets the purple wire. The points distributor needs the yellow wire, this starter doesn't accommodated it. You can replace the distributor with an HEI or you can install a diode on the yellow wire then attach it with the purple wire. See this (http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54624&highlight=diode) post for info.
