one of the doors has a small lip on it where the window sits, and I think that is all.

Door lock knob/rod was moved forward on the 69. Don't know if they changed any of the actual latching mechanism.

It has a different regulator too, doesn't it?

the whole inside cage that holds the regulators is totally different

the latches are different

the regulators are different

the hardware that holds the tracks are mostly different

and the tracks are different as well

if there is something specific that you need to know on them let me know and I will take some pictures of the areas you need to know about and post them

i would assume the regulator is different because the window is not as wide, but i guess the real question is can i put a 68 vent window and side window (with all the 68 hardware and regulator) into a 70 coupe door? the reason i want to know is because i had an idea for my chopped chevelle to use 68 side door windows because if you dont roll them up all the way they dont leave any gapslike a 70 does. the 68 windows have the vent window that fills up the triangular portion, i would jusy cut that down into a trapazoid. i could replace that with a new piece of glass but the the main door window would be stock, just not rolled up all the way. this will allow me to have factory curved glass in the quarter windos and doors. otherwise i am left trying to change the guide tracks and have custom glass made.

if you remove the inside part of the 68 door that holds the vent window and graft it to the 70 door I'm sure that you can probably make it work
also if you do not have the parts you need let me know I have plenty of parts from the doors including the cage section that you are welcome to at the super low giveaway price of free if you need
shipping is all that you would have to pay for or even just take a saturday ride up to pennsyltucky and pick it all up

cool! i am going yarding tomarro to get a set of doors then. i figure if i pull complete doors i'll have everything. i sure hope i can fit it all in a 70 door shell. do you think i should use the 68 locking parts or keep it all 70 locking stuff in the 70 shell? maybe all i need to switch over is all the window stuff.

tough question

hey if you find a good 68 drivers door pleeeeeease don't chop it
I need one in a bad way
I would be willing to drive the parts to you
since all the 68 doors I have are rotted at the bottom
but if you don't find any doors and decide to come get a pair here you will get all the stuff you need to make the job happen
the lock stuff the regulators and latches even glass (but I doubt if you would want the glass since it is slightly scratched)
