Your alternator is a newer SI alternator. A SI alternator has the connector marked 1 & 2. A DN alternator does not. The 72 originally had a DN alternator with an external mechanical regulator.
I am guessing that the regulator connector was not wired correctly when the SI alternator from the new 350 was put in the car. The brown wire is the light wire and if it isn't connected properly the light won't work. Here are the instructions to change from a DN to SI.

ok so today i rewired the generator
then the generator light started to work but it will
not come off and the generator only delivers 12,5 volts
at 2500 rpm
when i reverse the post one and two it cranks out 13,9-14,5
at 2000 rpm but the warning light does not shine engine off and key
in run position
is my generator junk ???

Here's another link. It has a picture of a SI alternator. Your alternator plug should look like this. Pin #1 goes to the light. Pin #2 goes to the large B+ terminal.
Remove the alternator connector.
Turn the key to On.
Measure connector pin 1 (blue wire?) to ground. It should have 12 volts.
Ground connector pin 1. The light should come on.

i will try to post a picture here later today.

have you played with the ign switch? I have seen them not make good contact sometimes, so when you turn the key back a little from on, it will make contact a little better.

Example, My neighbors old nova would have the oil light come on, but not the alt light when the the engine was off and the key was on, however you could turn the key back a little and the oil light would dim and the alt light would come on. Just a thought.
