My son and I have bought a 70 Chevelle Malibu to restore together as a project. Nearly nothing matches on the car but we knew that going into it. We are currently finding and cataloging all details about the car before going forward. My question is that I know that there are ID numbers located in the lip of the trunk by the seal. Previously I found on the web their meaning but cannot locate the site again. Can someone help?

On the driver side lip is 1D3718L
On the passenger side lip is 913837

Additionally, are there locations for numbers for the trunk lid, doors, hood, etc.? If there is a site that I can go to get the information please let me know.
