I have a Holley Double Pumper. The model is a 4871. I already have the fuel tank filter, and an inline fuel filter right before the pump, but I also wanted to get a couple of fuel filters that go in the inlet, similar to the one my Q-jet had. But, the guy at the parts store says that no double pumpers use inlet fuel filters. I found that to be a bit weird, so just wanted to confirm...thanks.

There are sintered (sp ) bronze filters that came with them and can be used , but vaery rarely if ever are they. The 2 filters you have should be fine. For more peice of mind if needed, run another inline filter after the pump.

They should have the sintered bronze filters at each inlet, but the "hot setup" is to leave them out due to potential flow restriction. If you have two filters already, you don't need the filters in the carb. You might be talking about the in-tank strainer at the end of the sender. That only gets the larger particles. If you change the other filter on a regular basis, you will still be fine without the carb filters. I know many people that toss them out before they even install the carb on their motors. (In other words, what BLK64SS said!)

I'd toss them, you don't need them. I even removed the sock from the pickup, I have a filter before the electric pump and a filter before the carburetor.
