pat mc Mar 23rd, 05, 3:13 PM rebuilding a suspension and lack the bucks for pst, etc. has anyone ever used auto-zone's DURALAST products, and if so , how about some feedback? i hear good things about moog, but can't find local. any help? please and thanks.
Brob Mar 23rd, 05, 4:38 PM If your going to replace upper ball joints Moog parts are correct not all holes line up with McQuay Norris. I am not familiar with Durlast. Pep Boys carried Moog at one time.
pat mc Mar 23rd, 05, 7:13 PM thanks, brob, was leaning toward the moog.
ben70 Mar 23rd, 05, 7:22 PM Go with Moog if you can. I hear it's the best stuff.
JohnC Mar 24th, 05, 1:25 AM If the price difference is modest, go with moog. I have used a lot of Autozone parts without any significant problems though.
Tom's 68 Mar 24th, 05, 8:15 AM I have used alot of auto zone stuff and have not had any problems
except for the cheap brake pads
I upgraded to the better ones and now they are holding up much better
HvyChvy71 Mar 24th, 05, 12:11 PM I believe you can order Moog suspension parts from Summit. I might be wrong.
70mousejob Mar 24th, 05, 2:13 PM The duralasts are McQuay Norris, but go with the moog.
Moloko Mar 25th, 05, 8:07 AM We use to carry mcquay, now most of the parts are re-boxed moog. If you want to pay for the blue/yellow box, go with moog, but most likely you'll get the same parts from us in the duralast name. We are spreading the duralast name across all of our products in 3 phases. Valucraft = "low priced line", Duralast, and then Duralast Gold. Keep in mind these arnt actual brand names, its just a marketting thing. All the parts are still made by another name brand company.

does this mean you work at auto zone
and if so which one
I know alot of the guys that work for az
the regional manager or something like that (chris) used to really be able to jam on the drums - he doesn't play anymore though
71350SS Mar 26th, 05, 12:43 AM Check the box,if its a reboxed Moog part being sold by an auto parts store it will have a small moog logo somewhere on the box.
Tom Mobley Mar 26th, 05, 1:02 AM One nice thing about the Zone is that , at least here in Arizona, you can get your parts warrantied even if you lose the receipt. Their computer system tracks your parts, keys off your phone number. They recently warrantied a set of brake pads I had bought years earlier, I had forgotten where I even bought them. They weren't even defective, just plain worn out. I went into the store to buy another set, didn't even have the old ones with me. The guy offered to check, I had no idea. Thankyouverymuchlysir!
