i posted this in the transmission section w/no replies. is anyone familiar with or used products from redneck performance in abilene,tx. ran across their ad on ebay last night. they are advertising their own brand of converters and claim they are good to 650+h.p. Their prices are really good-just wondering if the quality is as good as the price.

thanks,

I'll ask some people here in Abilene that should know.

From what I hear, you want to steer clear.

Im pretty sure they are the old Torco converters. Ive had great luck with my Torco. They are actually owned by Art Carr...if it is the old Torco

The old art carr name was bought by this company in Abilene. What you know of as Art Carr is now called something like California Performance. I know a couple of long time drag racers who tried the torco/art carr converters from Abilene, free of charge. They never worked well at all, and they actually gave them back. I hear that is why they changed their name, because the torco name got such a bad reputation. Just my opinion from what I have heard about them.
