I am in the process of gathering the correct pieces to install a somewhat original 396 in my 67' Chevelle SS. The motor will be a (68'- 69') L78(375 hp) when completed. While looking for an oil pan I have noticed a few variations in pans. What pan should I be looking for? Will any pan work? Does a Chevelle require a particular pan? What about oil capacity? Thanks for your input...............

I use a Moroso 7 qt. pan. Its right even with the bottom of the crossmember. but I also use small block motor mnts. and they raise the engine up a little higher.. Dont let anyone talk you into a pan that hangs down lower than the crossmember. It could be disaster on the street.
