I want to key my ignition lock and doors to be the same on my '70 model like it's supposed to be. Does anyone have a gm part # for an uncoded ignition lock cyllinder? I would prefer a "J" keyway, but a composite keyway would be ok. I know they used to sell them, but my Chevy dealer can't seem to find it in his books. Uncoded aftermarket would be ok as a last resort.

Jim,

Try your local locksmith. I have all (5) of my Chevelles keyed alike. Any locksmith can order your new ingnition lock and rekey it. They can also rekey the door locks.

I have a couple but I cannot remember what they are. I will try and look if you are interested.

Thanks John, I will try a few locksmiths in the area and see if they have a new uncoded cylinder. I'm so used to ordering out of catalogs, I sometime forget the obvious. I would be interested in what you have Redmanf1. Especially if they are an original "J" keyway. I will be away from the computer for a few days so if you post or send email, give me time to get back with you.

Thanks,

Jim

The 70 specific listing for uncoded lock cylinder is
3981938 in the '73 parts book. Does not mention keyway code.
Here is one on e-bay

Thanks Shooter! That looks like what I need. This one is probably the composite keyway which takes all the gm keys.
