When I've removed fuel tanks I know there are two insulator strips on top. I also recall there have been a couple thicker insulating pieces on the corners. Does anyone know where these go? I can't find my assembly manual, I think it was in there. Are these installed as needed?
The reason I ask is after installing a tank I noticed that the metal tank straps bow down a little and are not tight against the all of the bottom of the tank. The bolts are fully tightened so maybe I need a little thicker insulator on top?

You can purchase extra strap material for it. Cost is about $5.00.
