I'm finishing up my interior and I when to install the dome light blub. When I installed it the blub stayed on and I could not turn it off by way of the light switch. What have I done wrong here?

70 velle, I know that sounds dumb, but you are right. However, I believe I did have the door closed.

Aaron,
The dome light housing is grounded. When you turn the headlight switch all the way, you will feel a slight dedent (kind of like when you turn on the radio knob). Do you feel this dedent when you turn the headlight switch all the way and then when you turn it back? Also, are your door switches working properly? That is, are the door switches protruding out far enough from the door post that the door fully depresses the switch button when it closes? Make sure the light switch is off then push on the door buttons with your finger to be sure they are being fully depressed. If none of this is successful, have you done something to the electrical system latelyhttp://www.chevelles.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif

Just like Tom says, I'd check the door jamb switches. I had the exact same problem after I installed new weatherstrip. Ended up that the doors werent pushing the plunger in far enough to turn the light off. Just a few minor adjustments and all was well. Also make sure that the screws holding the bezel in place arent causing the ground. I bought a new repo and the silly thing was entirely chrome plated. I made a few rubber washers to put an end to that.

Thanks guys. I will take a look at those issues. I have a feeling that the switches might have a problem.
