Ok excuse my ignorance but I am just getting started in restoring a 67 Chevelle SS and am currently trying to locate all body mounts and replace the bushings.
Does anybody out there have a good general starting place or advice on preparation so there is no problems.

Really clueless. Any reference to any info is greatly appreciated.
I'll be in the garage.
thanks

There are 8 body mounts on my 68 mailbu: on the front corners, where the 1/4s meets the doors, the back side of the rear wheels and the back corners of the frame. I imagine that is similar to the ones on your 67...

They are denoted by a round cutout in the frame, should be a 5/8" socket to remove. Good luck, mine came right out, but I've heard the horror stories about rusty bolts.

On my 69 only one out of them all would come out it was terrible. Just put penetration oil on all them daily and let it soak in and hope they come out otherwise its a huge pain! good luck

I guess a spray is the only answer?

My trick is to drill a small (.125") hole in the body mount in-line with the body bolt. Get a penetrating oil nozzle to fit and start soaking. Or drill down from above but that gets tricky finding the correct spot to drill. Be patient, you don't want to break the bolts or mess up the captive nut.
