Any ideas where I can purchase the correct color black paint for my grill? Can you buy this in aerosol can?

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the original SS grills molded black. I notice some of the aftermarket parts specify to paint them black which I don't think is correct. Just wondering because I could use another grill and my looks like molded black plastic not painted.

This came up before and I asked about it. From what I recall, they were indeed molded black for the 70 SS grill -- and then, on most cars (but NOT all), the center-bar on the grille was painted the same as the car color.

I have seen repros on EBay over the past few months that are also molded black. Was thinking about getting one, but spent money elsewhere (on the car, of course) instead and just spray-painted a grill for now. smile.gif

I used VHT satin black and was a close match to the original broken grill that I had. It's found at most parts stores.

I used Eastwoods Underhood Black on the Chevelle I am doing now - it is an exact match to my original grill on my SS.
