I have a Muncie that has a cource input and the numbers cross refferanced to 1963. I do not know how to tell if it is a 20 or 21.

I would like to rebuild it myself as it shows exssive wear on the 3rd and 4th gears engagement. The slider is worn were the fork pushes it into 4th. When its apart I would like to change all four gears (reverse does not look to be too bad) and both sliders. How do I determine the correct gears and sliders to order along with an overhaul kit? Who is the best distributor to buy from?

Thanks for the help

Well, unless you have a 63 bellhousing made for a 409 or 63 vette, front bearing hole is way different than the 64 and up, pass on using it and sell it to a corvette or 409 person. Parts as far as gears go are available, some of the small parts are hard to find and if there are no rings on the input it is a 2.56 wide box.

Post the numbers and let's see what you have.
