I want to know if i can use Rage Gold filler over the brown factory primer if i cannot get it off.

Im trying to do a quick paint job that will be redone in a few years, and that old primer is hard to ge rid of with strippers and i dont have a DA sander.

Another aproach would be to strip the whole car to primer, then spray epoxy, then use filler, which is what the paint jobber recomended. Im just used to using epoxy over filler.

Which method would be best, or is there no way around taking the primer off?

Get that old stuff off. Buy/rent/steal and DA and go searching for bare metal. Take a little time now so you don't have to repaint it as soon as your done or in two years. It's just to much work to not try and do it right. I hear it all the time...."yeah, I painted it myself. I'm going to tear it all down and do it all over again cause I'm not happy with it". Those materials are to expensive to buy all over again.
My 2 cents.

i broke down and bought a DA to do the mud work quicker. Unfortunately the 6hp 30gal Crafsman Compressor doesnt like it.

There was little factory primer left, unfortunately it looks like my car had been in a accident 20+ years ago before my uncle bought the car and bodo was holding most of the drivers rear together.

Amazingly the 20+ year old bodo job held up very well to my surprise, but it took forever to get off. Its all patched now untill i get the money for a full quarter.
