Seems like every time I buy something to finish my project I came across another snag. I wont bore anyone with the long drawn out story so he is my newest set back. 67 Chevelle orig SB installing a 78 / 79 454 BB, motor came with no pulleys. Trying to preserve the orig look I installed a short H2O pump
and purchased a repo crank pulley and water pump pulley. Installed them The crank pulley a smaller diameter then the balancer ( is that normal ?) and the alignment to the water pump seems to be short about 1 to 2 inches, the alternator lines up with the crank pulley ok. I double-checked the water pump pulley with Ground Up and it appears I have the correct one. What to do ??
Single groove pulley with out power steering (should be 1 belt ?)
Balancer came with engine I was told that it is the same dimensions of a 396 balancer not sure if the statement is correct or not.
Small Block days just seemed so much easier :{
