I saw a few post in here on backseat removal but they were for 70 up. Im not for sure if its the same for a 68. I push the lower seat back and pull up correct? Just checking to see if this is the correct way to remove it from the 68 might need to pry it out if it is. Thanks

thats not exactly true- you push Down and back(At the same time, then it should just pop up and you can pull it out.

There are two latches welded to the floor- the metal rails of the seat frame pop into it. They are designed such that you can't just pry them out. You must push DOWN & back at the same time to release the seat from the hook.

If you get a flashlight and put your head down on the floor you can see under the seat & you hsould be able to see the latch.

Some seats that are not completly worn out can be very tough to push back far enough to release them. Might help to have a second person help.

In keeping with the back seat for a 68 chevelle.Has anyone seen those latches TC #830 was talking about??? I am installing a different rear seat in my 68 out of a 2001 saturn and the latches need to be moved over about 2 inches to get it to work. I thought I could get some used latches and weld them into place. That way if I sell the car and the new owner wants to go back to the original interior, it wouldn't be too much work. Any help would be great.

Thanks
