i'm considering painting my car orange but i can't decide on a good color for the interior. also are the fender brows needed to make it look good? i want to avoid putting them back on because the ones i have are the long ones (i've heard the 68's had two lengths) and it would be the only piece of body trim on the car.

Black and Saddle are the only 2 colors that come to mind when I think of Monaco(Hugger) Orange.

As for the trim I suspose on an orange car they might get lost in the color so might as well leave them off.

The 72SS hugger orange elky I had came with black interior. Sure do wish I still had that thing, a leaking Q-jet burned it to the ground. That was back in the mid seventies.

thanks. i think i'll fill the holes and leave the trim off, but if it looks bad i can always redrll them. do you think that ablack interior would make the car hot?

P.S.-that really sucks that the q-jet torched your car.

I'd definitely go with a black interior.

I don't think there was such a color available on Chevelles. You can check the index of years from the main page (http://www.chevelles.com) to be sure. All the paint codes are listed under their respective years.

I'd consider this decision in the same light as I would that of choosing a necktie to go with an orange sport coat.

A white or Parchment interior, which was factory available, looks very nice with an orange exterior. Also white exterior stripes. The paint code for Monaco and Hugger Orange is 72.

Chad, it may not have been called hugger orange but the orange on my elky was factory and parked beside a Camaro that was hugger orange they matched exactly. The Camaro had white interior though.

All this has made me seriously consider painting my present elky hugger orange instead of red like I had planned.

My votes for the white (parchment) interior. Seat will be a lot cooler to sit on than black...

IMO, too many of the older cars had black interiors...

My '72 Sprint (http://www.kliq.net/afinley/images/sprint.jpg) is Flame Orange Metallic (a factory '72 color) with a white interior, stripes and vinyl top. My vote is also obviously for white.

thanks for the input. i'm leaning towards the white/beige myself because of heat reasons, but my dad likes black which i also think is good color. i'll let you know what you decide. and if anybody has a pic of the black interior...

I would lean towards white myself.
You could always remind your dad that if you go with white half of the interior will still be black! http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif (carpet, dash, etc etc) purty much only the seats and door panels would be white.

There is a 68 eyebrow molding that stops at the grill extension, like the 69 SS's do. I think it is from the 300, although I'm not 100% sure. I recently saw a pair on ebay.
