I acutally have it. But it won't be home till later today. If nobody gives it to you by then, I will.

But if your woman ask who gave it to you, it was not me!

I've ordered from OPGI ALOT. Just make sure that "the best bang for the buck" includes waiting ungodly amounts of time if something is back ordered which they have never told me upon ordering.

Yes I agree a while back I ordered a Lower Door Rocker for my 83 El Camino and 5 months and a few days later they charged my card and it arrived at my door. I love when it says "back orders may take up to 30 days to receive" I guess I must have read my calendar wrong.

Just from personal expierence... Never again will I order from the mentioned above. GroundUP is the way to go.

Its wait and stress isn't worth the "great" price that is offered, they over charge on shipping and they charge you extra for company insurance and put it into the price and don't tell you.

NPD ,GROUND UP, OR SCOTTS---THEY ARE ALL GOOD---not to bash the above supply house, they have bout what others have-but the long awaitin backorders--that is not cool--and it always happens to every friggin order--67rat

Agree with CX1, I ordered a can of spray paint from them and it cost me $18.00 and i took off the ins. As far as the so called sale i checked there prices with ground up and they where a little cheaper but when you factor in the shipping they where more. I guess they have to pay for all that stuff they give away on that show.

I ordered a gas tank from "them" that showed up with a big dent in the bottom part that shows. I sent it back and they asked me why I sent it back. I said "didn't you see that big dent", no, we just put it back in stock. I don't consider them as an option anymore.

15% discount plus free shipping if you spend more than $299 (Not usually a problem) makes their deal a pretty attractive offer. I last ordered from them after I had tried a more 'local' parts house. Local said they will match prices. After I called and gave them my list and asked their prices, they said they'd get back to me but never did. I called 2 more times and they didn't respond to me. OPG got my order...'Local' house lost more than $600 worth of my business. (Not that they're going out of business because of it) OPG treated me right, I got my stuff quick, and I'll be placing another order this month.

Just a reminder everyone, Vendor bashing is not allowed in the forums.

Thanks for the reminder Leo.

I have edited a few respones here. If you have something to add to this post either positve or negative please keep to the facts. If you want to show dissatisfaction with a supplier state why, i.e. "I ordered x and recieved y", or "the order time was too long and they company did nothing to resolve my issue." Insults and many opinions will fall into the 'Vendor Bashing' area and will be removed. i.e. "they are stinky", or "those dirty, rotten, blah, blah, blah will never see me again."

Stick to the facts and we can have a useful discussion about suppliers.

Thanks in advance for the understanding.

R.J.

Just an FYI - NPD also offers free shipping on oders $300 and over. Seems to a norm for some suppliers. They also ALWAYS tell me if it's in stock and when it will ship. They've saved me so much on shipping on a recent big order by combining items and properly packing them with more than adequate protection, that the total price beat everyone elses, even with discounts. May not always be the case but that was my experience.

Here's another vote for NPD. They are always professional, courteous and every salesperson I've dealt with seems to be a real car guy.

This is not "vendor bashing" this is my experience with opg and I take full responsibility for information in this post. I don't know what else to do to get around this rule but I think it is crazy to protect them and continue to let them jack our members around. I waited 3 mos for parts of a $2500.00 order that they had tied up and could not order somewhere else. They lied to me and some of the parts like wheel well trim were absoulte junk. I had to buy alot of stuff I got from them again. I don't care if they are giving stuff away I am done with them. I have learned my lesson and stick with our sponsor Ground up whenever possible. I have had nothing but good luck with them. Year One and NPD are also very good. I understand there are liabilities that this website has and I am not trying to P*ss anybody off but information like this is vital to somone investing alot of money in restoring a car. In this country today it seems that people like this are protected more and more.

I have ordered parts for my restoration from just about all the major players. I guess I am in the minority because I can honestly say that I have not had a bad experience with any of them. I had to wait a few months for a shifter from OPG, but they actually kept me informed regarding the status of my order. Year-One and Ground Up are very customer oriented in my opinion. All parts have been as described, although on some desriptions you must read very carefully to understand what you will be recieving. On the few occasions I found the parts unsatisfactory, returns/refunds were never a problem anywhere. Ground Up and Year-One get most of my business.

BRK65: Thanks for telling the truth. The company in question lied to me, too. It seems to be a successful business tactic for them. (Heck, they more-or-less lie to the entire industry: They claim some parts are "made by OPGI" when in fact they come from China.)

Another vote for NPD. Better parts than most, never had a back order, and if I order in the morning, I get the parts the next day! (two states away)

I have ordered qutie a bit from OPG but that was in the mid to late 90s. Cant complain about the service or the prices for that matter. Yes, some of it was backordered, which wasnt a big deal to me since I place orders in the winter. Some parts I bought back then havent been put on the car yet so Im praying they will fit.

However. For a place that sell the amount they sell and the size of that catalog. I cant understand how that much stuff can be backordered. Had I known about Ground Up I would have probably gone there instead, because of thier involvement and support with Team Chevelle.

However I needed a part that Ground Up had at almost 100 bucks cheaper then the next nearest competitor (not OPG). I ordered the part and was never told that the part currently wasnt available from the manufacture. I had to call months later to see what was up and thats when the truth came out. I had to pay almost double for it at another company.

Not all mail suppliers are perfect. But from now on I will only deal with the 2 local resto shops. They are very helpfull and the service is excellent and they will match any price in any catalog. Plus I would rather help the local shops anyways.

I would buy from ground up if their website was more user friendly... its very hard to find what i need on there and when you find it there isnt any PICTURES! I would like to see what i am buying.
Thats why i use OPG because there are pictures and parts are easier to look up. BUT, a complaint for them... "what's with the backorders"??? and why do they not mention what is backordered before you agree to sales?

You guys just reminded me that I ordered an SS wheel mask kit from opgi for a back burner project over a year ago, and apparently my back order got forgotten. I have never heard a peep and have never gotten my back order. Don't they have a system to keep track of these things?
