I picked up a 70 malibu project, basically a rolling frame, discs front, 12 bolt was replaced with a 10 bolt open, originally a 4-speed AC car, original buckets were recovered not stock all glass is good, floors, trunk good bottom of rear quarters have bondo missing front clip, rear bumper. when I went to buy new door panels the guy at the resto shop wanted to buy the car, he says he's got buyers that want it for building a SS clone, I told him it wasn't for sale, I was wondering what a car in this condition brings? I'm putting a 72 front clip on it because thats all I have right now and a 72 rear bumper, after a carpet kit and kick panels the interior will be done, Jim

I just saw one like you have described go for $500 at a swap meet. Just an FYI on putting the 72 front clip on the 70, be careful of the wiring harnesses. A 72 harness will plug into a 70 dash harness bulkhead physically, but nothing will work, I already went through this trying to use a 72 dash harness with my 70 forward harnesses. You will either need a 71 front harness or a 72 dash harness to make it work right.

thanks for the heads up on the harness, basicaly the 70 was just a shell, seats and headliner, glass. I have a 72 that was missing the the front clip and the frame was bent a little, not to mention I never got the title, so I used the complete harness out of the 72 and the dash assy, doors, trunk chrome trim, rear bumper and the new front clip I was going to use on the 72. the guy at the resto shop thinks I could sell the body and make enough to buy another project car and still have money left over, it seems most people around here think just because they saw a chevelle on barrett-jackson theirs must be worth $$$, even though it needs everything and it's been sitting out with the windows down for 15 years. A friend of mines brother past away 2 years ago and they have a 69 camaro that he parked 10 years ago in the back yard, clean car, spoiler, cowl hood, small block, and they're talking $3000 range, nobody remembers why it was parked, Jim
