I'm going to purchase a new spray gun for doing mostly primer work. (Too chicken to spray finish coats.) Any suggestions?
Also, I have a decent compressor (14cfm @120#), so what regulators, line dryers, etc. would I need as well ?

Jeff with that compressor a Sata HVLP gun is OUT of the question. All the Sata's that I have run in the neighborhood of 14-16 cfm, your compressor WONT supply the needed air for those guns.
Sharpe makes a good gun althou not my weapon of choice it is a good gun. Ive seen some advertised that run with just 7 cfm. The 2 types of Sharpe guns I have used are the cobalt and Platnumim(sp?), both are good guns, the cobalt being the cheaper gun in the 150 range, other gun is 250-300 NEW. But there is some website that you can buy used guns that have been rebuilt and are good as new for half the cost.
Sharpe also makes some great air filters. Eastwood sells them I seen. For the 1 time painter the water trap filter will work just fine, no need to go crazy and get the 3 stage filter that costs 450 bucks. Sharpe makes some real some water traps for around 100 bucks and thats all Ive got in my shop at home and have no problems.
The thing i would not use is those in-line filters, you know the elcheapo 5 dollar type that screws on the bottom of the gun. Yeah they are nice to have but are an air killer. They kill cfm's like no other, and if you are using a HVLP gun that can be a real problem. So dont use them, and plus you shouldnt need them anyway the water or oil should have been taken care of long before that point in the air system.
