: SSBC vs. Baer Brake Kits

I just purchased a '70 Chevelle Malibu that will be undergoing a full body-off restoration (Father-Son project). It is currently equipped with non-power drum brakes @ all 4 corners.
Ive been looking at disc brake conversion kits for the 'velle, and I think ive narrowed it down to 2 options.
The kit im leaning towards is the SSBC brake kit.

This is the kit in particular: http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/products/detail/356/?make=Chevrolet&model=Chevelle&year=1970
I like this kit because I can swap out MC and Booster included with the kit, for the billet units they sell. It also seems very complete. I would couple it with the rear kit:

My concern with this kit is the rotor size. Ive read on these forums, the complaints about the Wilwood brake kits and having rotors that are quite thin. Ive also read here, that the clamping power of a caliper (# of pistons) isnt as significant as having a larger rotor The rotors on the SSBC kits are just under 1" thick. and have 11.25 diameter. I want to keep the rim size on the chevelle 17" or smaller, and while SSBC offers a front kit w/ 13" rotors which will work with a 17" wheel, the matching rear kit has 14" rotors and will not work with a 17" wheel.

The other option is the Baer Track kit with the 13" front rotors and 12" rear rotors. Unfortunatly Baer's website is terrible, and I cant find too much direct info on the Baer Kits for the chevelles, how complete they are etc. I also dont know if they require the tall spindles and what not.

Im looking for some input on both these kits, and what you guys recommend. The end result I am looking for is a very drivable high performance Chevelle. Money is not a huge factor here, and im open to most options.

Baer makes the 13" Track kit for both standard and tall spindles. I'm running the 13" Track front and 12" Touring rear kits on my 69 El Camino and am very satisfied with their performance. If you don't mind spending a little extra money,Baer would be a good choice. The kits are complete and very easy to install. Racer Net pricing on the Track kit starts at $1095 and the Touring kit starts at $895. Rotor options like slotting & crossdrilling or two-piece Eradispeed rotors are optional. If you shop around, you can save a lot.
Touring Specialties is another good company to deal with.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into the baer kit further. Im unfamiliar with either of these places: Racer Net and Touring specialties. Do they have websites? I'm gonna do a google search and see what I turn up.

Does anybody have any comments on the SSBC kits? They get alot of press in magazines.. and on SSBC's websites they have links to tons of published articles, all of which seem positive (obviously they wouldnt link a bad article on their own website). I'm just looking for a quality and complete high-perf disc brake conversion kit.

Racer Net is a pricing level,,usually a little lower than retail and definitely higher than wholesale.

Ah, thanks for clarification on that. I had read it mentioned elsewhere on the forums, and was confused. BTW. I couldnt find anything about "Touring Specialties". Got a link? Thanks.

Thanks Tom. I have your name saved, so that when I get ready to purchase the brake kit, I can come to you w/ any questions.. and possibly even order them through you. Thanks.

I suppose ive been swayed towards the baer kit because, in the end I think may cost less than the SBBC kit that i was looking at, plus ill get the 13" rotors vs. the 12" that id get w/ SSBC
