ok almost finish putting my seat belts back in installing the front ones they go thru the bottom of the front seat they bolt to the floor there is three in a bunch do i crank down on the bolt so the belts dont move or leave them loose slightly so they swivel a little? oh yea 70 chevelle. thanks storm

Those get held in place with a shoulder style bolt, one that is not threaded all the way up to the bolt head. It allows them to pivot freely. The unthreaded portion is about a half inch wide.

blue ss 454 thats the one im using just when i crank down they get real tight i got the three belts stack up then the bolt thru them so i can slide the cover over them if i spread the belts to free them up the cover wont slide over them.maybe just back off the bolt a little?

Probably the carpet is too thick, binding up the belts when the bolt is tightened. It'll smash down after awhile. DON'T leave the bolt loose, could cost you your life later....
