My new valve covers came with a Summit screened breather cap instead of using the pcv valve, is this going to be alright as long as I plug the vacuum port on the carb, or should I go back to using the pcv valve? Let me know what you guys think, I think the screened breather looks better, but don't want to mess anything up.

use the PCV, the engine is supposed to have one unless it is a race only engine, then it needs the blowby to be routed to the headers thru check valves.

PCV is the finest bit of emissions engineering on the planet. It's cheap, hugely effective, and causes virtually no problems.
In addition, your oil stays cleaner. The rest of your engine has to like that!
