: Where can I find yellow headlights?
Alwhite00 Feb 6th, 05, 8:28 PM Hello, I am new to this forum and have a question. I'm not sure where to post this so feel free to move if needed.
Anyway, I am looking for a source for the yellow 5 3/4" high beam headlights. I just purchased a 70 Chevelle and really like how these lights look. 15 years ago they were everywhere but now when I actually want them of course I can't find them.
Or possibly how to "tint" the lights that are in there.
Thanks for any & all responses and I look forward to learning some stuff on the bord.

novaderrik Feb 7th, 05, 12:41 AM the only "yellow" headlights i see are a result of a poor charging system or bad wiring. old cars with external regulated alternators normally have yellow headlights regardless of the brand or type of lights installed.
Schurkey Feb 7th, 05, 1:16 AM Yellow headlights are/were required by law in France.
In America, deliberately yellow tinted headlights would be illegal.
In the mid to late 80's, I used to ride a GSX-R1100 with a yellow headlight cover. I liked it because it made my bike a little more noticable by other drivers. The law, unfortunately did not like it. I got pulled over several times with it. Unless you are looking for that time of attention, I wouldn't bother with it.

Neuman Feb 7th, 05, 10:51 AM Yellow headlights are/were required by law in France Yep, I always knew the French were yellow!! :D
Alwhite00 Feb 7th, 05, 12:06 PM Yea, JC whitney used to sell them but not anymore. They will only be on the high beam so I don't think the law will be too bad and I am not going to drive it very much. I really like that look asd that is what was popular when I was just out of school so I want to duplicat it if possible.

Malibu Jimbu Feb 7th, 05, 3:56 PM Are these fog lights you're looking for? If so, they wouldn't be high beams, but might go in the hi beam hole.
Alwhite00 Feb 7th, 05, 6:57 PM I don't know if they are actual "fog lights" but I do know that they are definately yellow. When the lights are off they are yellow. They look just like a regular 5 3/4 high beam but they are tinted.

dyno jonn Feb 8th, 05, 9:12 AM From a Wagner catalog........
4001A high beam amber, 4002A low beam amber, 4012A fog light amber.
Right next to the yellow snow. :D sorry.
Alwhite00 Feb 8th, 05, 12:09 PM Thanks, I'll look into the wagners. The description sounds correct as long as the size is right.
