i have taken the front and rear glass out of my chevelle and wonder what to use to get all the black window sealer/putty/rope/etc. off of the window chanel and my hands. so that i can sand and treat the window channel before installing the new glass. thanks

I used a regular paint scraper (carefully) and then went back over it with a wire wheel (get a brass one to prevent any metal removal). The sealant came off my hands with some heavy duty hand cleaner and a lot of scrubbing.
