View Full Version : Photos wanted of 1967 Chevelles
DaleM Jan 3rd, 05, 1:21 AM I am putting together a 1967 Chevelle Facts CD and I am looking for photos to use. Photos can be any size (minimum 640x480 please) as I’ll resize them to fit the theme of the CD. If photos are digital, e-mailing them will be fine. Hard-copy photos cannot be returned but are still welcomed as I have a digital scanner.
In particular, I’m looking for:
• Three-quarter view shots (front and rear) of the various paint colors offered in 1967. The paint does not have to be original to the car, just the original color.
• Different interior photos showing bench or bucket seats, dash area, etc., again in all colors originally offered. Since many colors are very close and sometimes photos do not detect the differences in some blues, the trim number from the body tag would also be appreciated for accuracy.
• Engine photos of original or correctly restored engine compartments. Close up of details such as carburetor, air cleaner assemblies, exhaust, A.I.R., engine ID pads, etc. are requested.
• Photos of Fisher Body plates, VIN plates, Protect-O-Plates, and any documentation such as body broadcast sheets, original window stickers, trim broadcast sheets, etc.
• Photos do not have to be of SS Chevelles. Any model is welcome be it Chevelle 300, Chevelle 300 Deluxe, Malibu, Concours, or El Camino. I realize most enthusiasts keep and/or restore the SS396 model but I do not want this to be another SS only CD.
Unfortunately since this is a new project, monetary compensation is not possible for your efforts. However, every person donating photos and/or hard-copies of any items used will receive a free CD when it is completed.
If space allows, and it should, any photos of custom 1967 Chevelles are welcomed as well, be they exterior, interior, or engine photos.
If you wish to submit photos of a Chevelle that is not yours, please have the owner contact me so I may obtain permission to use the photos from the owner.
If I already have a photo of your 1967 Chevelle on any of my web sites that can be used in this commercial effort and your permission is granted, you will still receive a CD if used. Please indicate what the name of the photo is (right-click the photo and select properties to obtain the URL) and e-mail me for confirmation of permission.
If submitting photos by e-mail or granting permission of any photos I already have on the Internet, please indicate permission to use the photos along with your name/address/city/state/zip so acknowledgement can be made and a CD can be mailed when it is finished.
67-468 Jan 3rd, 05, 7:07 AM You can use any of the pics in my sig.Or if you need any others I can send.
Mike.
Freddy Mercado Jan 3rd, 05, 11:46 AM Dale, where do we send the pictures???? I have a few that I think will help you out.
Dale, there are some on the MCC website, email Donnie for permission.
BillsCamino Jan 3rd, 05, 8:08 PM Dale,
Of course, feel free to use any of the '67 Sedan photos I've previously submitted and presently in use on your website! graemlins/thumbsup.gif
EddieC67ss Jan 4th, 05, 12:02 AM What's wrong with the 66/67 CD that's already published. What we need is someone to cover the other years 68 and up.

The 66/67 CD I think you're referring to is for SS cars only and is geared (IMO) to restoration, and there's nothing wrong with that. My effort is for all 1967 models and I want to get a bit more indepth. My current test site has over 770 photographs and 490 pages and it's probably 20% complete if that much. A CD will hold over 650Mb of data and it costs no more per CD to fill it to 75%-100% capacity than it does 10%.
Believe me, if I felt as confident with other years, or if there is anyone out here that would consider a colaboration effort, I'd most surely entertain the plan. With 2,500 Mb of online storage space available at my test site, there's certainly room to collaborate with other years for future projects. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

427L88 Jan 4th, 05, 10:16 AM Dale you probably already have a bolero red car in your catalog?
Herb Jan 4th, 05, 10:38 AM Well Dale,
Your "right click the photo to obtain e-mail...." doesn't doesn't provide an e-mail address. Nor does your web site. How about just posting an e-mail address here that you wish pics to be sent to?
MileHiSS Jan 4th, 05, 12:29 PM Dale, I just finished painting my K code emerald turquoise ragtop, and am in the middle of reassembly. Please feel free to look at my album and maybe I can give you pictures of parts before reassembly if you need them.

Chuck Jan 5th, 05, 5:47 PM Dale,
You're the best buddy. You can use anything I have. Mine is not real stock but you are welcome to use whatever you want or I will gladly take whatever shots you might need.
Regards
Chuck

KEN67RAT Jan 6th, 05, 2:56 AM Dale, I think I have sent you all of the cowl tag pictures I have. You can use any pictures I have sent you(and any that I will send you). Are you looking for complete car pictures most of all? What about incomplete cars showing a bare firewall, bare floorpan, the way some body hardware is mounted, or maybe part identification pictures like this one. http://bellsouthpwp.net/k/s/kss396/Frmmnts.jpg
Mytmouse Jan 6th, 05, 12:42 PM Dale,
You are welcome to any photos of my car that I have but most (even the one in my signature) are grainy and the car is not stock (color is though) for the most part. I expect to take some new digitals of the car when it comes out in the spring.
My engine compartment isn't stock so there isn't much value there for you except maybe in the carburator. I still have the factory (rebuilt and restored by Holley Performance) Holley 585 (correct I believe for 67 396/350HP cars) with the correct factory replacement fuel line (albeit in stainless steel). When I take the car out in the spring I can take some closeups of the carb if it will help your cause. The car is 50 miles away from me in storage so I won't have access to it utill about May. Other than that I have chrome, billet, headers and Aluminum intake under the hood that deviate from your target photos.
Interior is stock (except tach on steering column) with what I believe to be the original or NOS replacement along time ago (faded colors) blinker tach. I believe the seats are original (some stitching pulled out) so there may be some value there.
I do have the POP at home in a safe and a photo of that is available within a few days if you want it. Let me know.
Just say the word and I will flag my calendar and and take whatever car shots might help you some time in May.
Robert
crazychevelle Jan 6th, 05, 7:00 PM You can use any photos that are in my signature. Everything in the pictures are origonal(paint,tires,trim,motor,tranny,etc..). The only thing that wouldn't be is the radio in the dash and the matt on top of the carpet(was there when i bought it). The site isn't finish but there are some pics that might be able to help you.
EDIT: Speakers might not be origonal and there was a wiper delay switch under dash when I bought it and visible in pic. Took it off after i bought it.

Robert Appreciate it Robert. I have a grand plan of getting at least one photo of every factory color and then one of each combination...ie a Butternut Yellow hardtop or sedan, then one with a black vinyl top, then a convertible - the same with each color and one of each color on the Elky as well. I have all the 67 colors except Sierra Fawn but many were taken at shows with hoods up and lawn chairs around and I'd really like to get some in a 'photo shoot' setting. That and I'm sure of the legality of using some of the photos in a commercial effort without the owner's permission as opposed to simply displaying them on a non-profit website. That's why I made this post initially - to get photos AND permission.
Also any 'documentation' such as body plates (trying for at least one of each month at each plant and maybe even one from each week per plant), POPs, trim broadcast sheets, body broadcast sheets, etc.

Freddy Mercado Jan 15th, 05, 11:04 PM WOW, too bad. My 67 is Sierra Fawn. However, it is completely stripped right now. Doing a frame off.
TJ1967SS Jan 16th, 05, 1:19 PM I think I've got some pictures of my radio delete dash. I didn't see any in your interior pics. I'll find them and send them to you.
