I was digging through the garage and found some old paint cans of my orange pearl that my painter gave me. It's a custom blend and I'm totally ignorant about painting. There are numbers on the can (a one gallon can) that appear to be paint codes and possibly weight as each color is added. It reads:

BC670 - 1730.7
BC710 - 2606.6
BC790 - 2737.8
CB75K - 3237.8
CB646 - 3522.1

D79651C

The paint is all R-M Diamont if that makes any difference. There are some smaller pint and half-pint cans of yellow pearl, gold pearl, white pearl, and blue pearl but those were used on the flames.

Years ago I worked for an auto parts store and the guy also mixed paint for body shops. Each factory color was made up of other colors and was determined by weight. Is that what the numbers above mean?

The first # is the tint and the second is the wieght as measured on the scale.

That's what I thought - thanks!
