I had this in brakes and susp but no reply.On a 68 chevelle is the parking brake cable guide that hooks to the right side of the trans crossmember the same for a 4-speed and a turbo 350 and 400 and is it the same 68-72?Mine is missing and I need to find one and I want to get the correct one.Thanks Bill.

i looked in the ass man and it looks like the hook or guide that gos on the crossmember is the same as the side guides there should be one on each side of frame. do you have these? these should be pretty easy to find or you could make one.

William, the front bracket is the same for all 68-72 regardless of trans and it is not the same piece as the two side guides. The General used different length cables on the various trans configurations as some transmissions are longer than others. Hope this helps.

Not excatly correct, my 70 was a turbo 400 car, when I changed to Muncie 4 speed I had to make a longer hook.

That's because the difference in the cables is 2.5 inches, if you had the correct cable you could have used the original guide. Either way will work.
