Hi folks,

I want to get a good quality indoor car cover for my 69. I went to a Chevy speciality parts store today and looked at what they had, A nice soft cover & fit for 68 thru 72 Chevelle for $180.00 I asked the person if it had a hole for the antena. The anser was, well if you want a hole for the antena, he sugested to take it to a seamstress and have them sew in a sock for the antena. I thought $180.00 and it won't go on my car without cutting a hole in it, Not.

Can you reccomend a nice quality cover that I don't have to alter ? I would of been Ok with the price, but having to have it altered to accept the antena really tweaked my sense of humor. I only will use it indoors, so I don't need one for the outside eliments etc.

All our Chevelle's came with antena's. Why would car cover company's make what they call a custom fit cover if they don't allow the bloody antena to poke through it

Thanks,

Gaz

Thanks,

Gaz You need a cover specificly for your 69, the universal 68-72 covers may not have the hole since 69 was the last year for the external antenna..
Sorry I cant help

Gazzer, I found a 100% nylon cover in the OPG magazine. It says that it has an "antenna hole reinforcement patch" the part number is WF39004 and it's only $44.95. It says that it is for indoor use only. Right up your alley. OPG's number is 1-800-CHEVELLE.

I have bought several custom fit cotton fleece indoor covers and none came with the antenna hole. They did have an iron on reinforcement for an antenna hole that the owner must make.

I got a Wolfe car cover from Summit.I think it cost like $120,has like 3 or 4 layers, breathable, etc. It fits nice,as I like when it comes down far over the sides of the car,so in case you walk by the car in the garage, you won't scratch it.

Thanks Guy's

I found that most of the covers come with a gromet that you can self install for the antena mast. From my research, a company called Covercraft seems to make a lot of covers for other re-sellers.

Plus on AM only cars antenna is in rear AM/FM it is in front. Takes about 5 seconds to remove mast and cover goes on a LOT easier. My .02 Mike

Gazzer, I don't live with out Car Covers, and have never saw one with Atenna hole already in it. You have a killer Paint job which you want a Killer Cover, at least thats the way I am. I always Buy from Calif. Car Cover Co. www.calcarcover.com (http://www.calcarcover.com) Been buying from them since the late 70's. Latest fabrics . I took my chevelle down to these Guys during Summer to find a cover I will like. I bought there Superweave, it comes with a 2 piece plastic grommet to install for the Attenna if needed. Mine needed it and they asked if I wanted them to install it, why not. It was very easy to install the grommet. Cover just doesn't let any dust in. But its one of the most expensive covers which I wasn't worried about. Good luck
