Are the new 1969 door shells put out by Goodmark equivilant or near to the stock doors? I was thinking about replacing my drivers side and I was wondering how they stack up against the Oem doors

But do you know how the door shells are as far as fit and overall equality with an oem door? Do they fit nice or are they just another cheap repro? Thanks graemlins/beers.gif

Goodmark uses GM die stamps so they should fit like a glove. I have not had to use them however.

I keep watching the Goodmark site but have yet to see 69 door shells. They have the skins but not the shells listed. Dynacorn makes the shells but I haven't gotten a report back from anyone who's tried them.

I spoke to Goodmark today, they do not have 69 door shells yet. The salesman said he didn't know when they would.

Have you tried Ground Up? The mailman just delivered the 2005 catalog and if they don't have it, I bet it's not being made yet, but they seem to have just about everything. Good luck!

Dynacorn (DII) makes them. There was one member here who had bought them but he hasn't emailed back about the fit yet. I'll try to search for his address and ask him again.

Goodmark will be making full qtrs (from trunk lip to inside door jam) in March though. If I can't find some NOS I'll be getting them ($510 per side).

to bad no one makes quarters for a convertable
but since mine are not too bad I am just having them repaired
doors on the other hand
when I got the car it had no doors so I got a half decent set but they need alot of work
sure would like to know how the dynacorn ones fit

We put Dynacorn door skins on our 69 and they worked very well. I'm also liking the quarters we recently received from Ground Up, so far so good!

yeah my door skins look pretty good but the front corner at the bottom of the inside is rotted
I found the pieces off of a set of doors from a four door that will work
I just don't want to go through the hassle of replacing that piece if I can find shells instead

Tom, I see 68 shells listed on ebay all the time, and I know of a local shop who sells shells for both years 68 and 69, I dont know who makes em, but Im sure you could call and ask. They run about 250-300 a piece. Too bad though a little earlier in 04 I had the opportunity to purchase of set of OEM that were perfect for 200 just to have lying around (just in case) Now I could really use em. jason.

cannot find anyone locally that has anything
and don't mind getting them shipped
I guess I could put a search on the want section
I might get lucky

I think it might be Tamraz that has them up on E-bay. I don't know who they are made by though. Search for 68 Chevelle then search for him in the vendor search.

www.thepartsplaceinc.com (http://www.thepartsplaceinc.com) My personal experience with the owner Joe there has been nothing short of A++++++++++ all the way. Not vendor bashing here but I have had a sincere lack of success with Tamraz. They are competitive, its just impossible to get product from them. Sorry it took so long to get back to you guys. Jason.
