I have a 71 Chevelle 4 Door sedan (no vinyl top), but it's not a Malibu. I want to make it look like a Malibu so I need to add the chrome drip rail. I have been told the drip rail from the 2 door won't fit. Anybody know how to find one. Also I am going to add the Malibu logo to the front fenders. I have been also told that there is a template for the location. Anybody know of this template or a way to know exactly where to mount the Malibu logo on each side. Thanks much!!

Look at the pics in my sig. I don't know the exact dimensions, but they should give you a good idea to get close enough. Also don't forget the bottom rail and wheel-well trim - all part of the "Malibu" trim option. smile.gif

This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone trying to clone a 4 door malibu . . .

I don't have the exact code, but it's a 2001 PT Crusier "Taupe Frost Pearl". There should be only 2 variations, one light (the one they used), and a darker one (the one I used).
Replace 75 of the 150 parts 'Heavy Alum' with "Alum. Glass Chips", and fog the edges & bottom half with Black & Glass Chips.
And that's how you make The Shinny **** Color.

graemlins/thumbsup.gif It sounds nuts to clone a 4 Door Malibu but it is more for a personal reason. When I was 16 I smashed up my Dad's 71 Chevelle Malibu 4 door. I always wanted to get that car back so I found one in good shape to fix up.

I had a 1971 4-door and before I let one of my kids take to a demo derby out in the country I pulled off anything of value. I have all of the removeable chrome that seemed to just snap over the actual body metal ... is this what you are looking for?

graemlins/thumbsup.gif Cloned cars are highly collectible these days. Why not. It's a question of wanting to make your car look nicer. Why did folks go for the malibu to begin with? - 2-door guys smile.gif What do they understand? graemlins/beers.gif
