Joe yes, the parts that i dont use from the 69 4 door are going to be pulled to sell. does anyone need anything in particular?
Thad, the red wagon is not mine, i just used the image to digitaly modify to show what i was planning to do. i have a rust free body that i am going to do this mod on after i mock it up on a parts wagon i have.

http://home.comcast.net/~petelohr/einstyn1/einstyn-body.htm Having looked at your website and reading the part about the floor reinforcements I think you should use them.
If a boxed frame would have been enough it seems like GM would have done that rather than make up new parts for a 4 dr hardtop.
I guess the belt and suspenders approach is to use both.
I have a 2 dr 64 wagon and it wouldn't have hurt my feelings if they had used boxed frames on them.
I think the Chevelle frames are a bit too flexible through the side rails.

mrroberts, i think it all will fit except the pieces on the corner of the back doors. i noticed that the area that the door indents into the quarter panel there is longer in 68 -69 then in 70-72, so therefore the door corner piece is different which also leads me to believe that the molding leading up to the door will be too short for you as well. but i have not tried it. maybe you could find someone to confirm. or if you already have a set, measure it. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
Pete, 70 wagon frames were not boxed, as you know, but i am using an elky boxed frame. i am sure the boxed frame is stiffer support then the section they added to the floor when using a non boxed frame. it must have been suffecient and cheeper to add this extra floor brace then box all the 4 door hard top frames. but i will strongly consider using both. since i have them i might as well use them. i will just have to drill the spot welds and weld it into my floor in the same place. boy i hate welding up side down. maybe i will drill the holes thru the floor and plug weld them from above!. graemlins/beers.gif

I was probably thinking about them using convertible frames but of course that only works for 64-67 cars.
I suppose throwing a couple extra stampings on the floor pan was simple enough for Chevy to do.
Somehow I picture that 4 dr hardtop flexing more going over bumps, especially one wheel bumps, and hitting driveways at an angle, getting towed; etc.
I wouldn't let my 64 get hauled on anything but a rollback, no tow trucks. Yes I'm a worry wart. graemlins/clonk.gif

yeah, the 4 door frames are unique to 4 door cars, they could have used the same boxed pieces that they put in the elky frames, they would be the right length, but the convertible ones are shorter.

Too bad you live all the way in Virginia. From the pictures it looks like I could use that front bumper.
