I installed a fuel cell in my hole back there, I ran the vent outside the car and up into the area where the stock tank is. I am getting vapors. There are no leaks. I was wondering about that back side panel, drivers side, is it sealed from outside the car. My thought is if you were to remove that panel maybe the stock tank would be there. I don't know. If it is this would explain the smell and tell me also I need to find somewhere else to vent. What does anyone know of that area of the car.

the tank is there between the quarter panel and the inner body steel. yes it is sealed from the inside of the car. if you are not using the tank, you can undo the straps and drop the tank out. that will give you plenty of room to mount your vent. gas fuems are pretty strong. and you might be smelling it thru the fuel cell, not the vent?

What do you mean thru the fuel cell? It is aluminum, and nothig is leaking on it. The vent I was speaking of is the vent for the fuel cell. I ran it outside and put it by the stock tank. I am using both tanks. Why? Well I go see my family in Mobile, I won't have to stop as often. The wagon uses gas. Well at least I know it is a sealed area, so I will have to look for another answer to my problem.

i guess what i ment is that gas fuems are very tiny particles and can move thru microscopic gaps. also gas has a temdency to creep up surfaces in order to evaporate. but if you cap is sealed, i dont understand where the smellis coming from. maybe it is just lingering and needs time to clear out. i doubt the fuems are sucking back in thru the rear window when you are moving, so you got me puzzled. can you inclose the fuel cell in another compartment? like make a cover for it? that would provide further bariers.

I don't know what I'm going to do, it may just be my sense of smell, it's pretty good. For instance I turned the A/C on in the house yesterday, and I could smell mold, wife comes home I ask her if she can smell the mold, she said no. Well I cleaned the coil this AM, and it had mold on it. So the smell of fuel could just be me, it also seems to only be when the beast is running, so it could just be from the carb. Well anyway guess I'll go. Thanks
