: Hey, 4 doors need love too!!!
BillsCamino Mar 23rd, 04, 11:56 PM I just noticed that this new forum is for wagons and 4 door cars, correct?
Well, I wanted to add my .02 and say I recently "adopted" a '67 4dr project.
The Nantucket blue Malibu is a fully documented 42K mile, one Southern owner, low optioned (283/PG) rust free survivor.
Presently in the paint shop for a little freshening up. Probably add PS/PB, maybe AC and make her a nice weather driver/cruise night.
gman Mar 25th, 04, 11:49 AM Yaaaa! I love my 4 door. I'm Designing a Twin Turbo 355ci set up for mine!!! Is this a 4 door forum? If not, will there be one?

I bought my 4 door the last week of Feburary.
I almost freaked when I turned my Chevelle calendar over to March the beginning of this month!!
That white/red car has been my inspiration for this project.
My goal is the have my car painted, reassembled, driving & enjoying it by May 1st.
For giggles, I might just enter it in the Southeast regional. I already drove it to last months meeting.
Shawn Mar 26th, 04, 3:33 AM That's a beautiful four door you got there Bill! It's always cool to see an all original Chevelle once in a while. Don't mess with it too much!
64 Pete Mar 26th, 04, 6:14 PM I have a 64 four door sedan. 283 w/Powerglide.
Rescued from an estate sale in Philadelphia.
Has less than 35K on odometer.
White w/ red interior.
Have a bunch of suspension and brake stuff left over from deceased 2 door so this may become 4 dr "G" machine.
(even if I don't really like that term)
I'm going to try and keep all changes reverseable in case 4 doors ever become super valuable.
SSuper Dave Mar 26th, 04, 10:35 PM On my second Sport Sedan, the "other" SS :D They're pretty cool and with all 4 windows down, almost as good as a convertible! Plus super clean ones are available cheap.
jtjohnston Mar 27th, 04, 10:40 PM Was I boycotted for the March mailing? A 4-door finally honoured graemlins/beers.gif graemlins/hurray.gif graemlins/thumbsup.gif graemlins/waving.gif graemlins/beers.gif
I don't know what ever happened to the pics of my 4-door I sent Admin Al, but I'll have to try again. The snow is Almost gone in front of the garage door. My son is not allowed to take out his bike, Mom says, until all the snow is gone everywhere in the driveway. - I got stuck under the same thumb smile.gif - I've been shovelling on warm days just otspeed it along :D
Just found a 71 Biscayne with a 350, owned by a priest, that a University kid has been driving all winter. Still has original paint. I have the word rescue in my mind now smile.gif It is really nice.
God love 4-doors that have been hiding in people's garages. I know a guy in NFLD that found a 1970 that some poor elderly woman parked because she did not like the brakes or steering (not power). there are still a few finds out there.
The value Will rise one day. We have to keep them pristine until then. Keep them dry is my theory. Sunny days only.
jtjohnston Mar 27th, 04, 10:44 PM 4-door featured?? Where :(

Duh! Paying attention again ...
But come on Admin Al !! smile.gif There are some beautiful examples out there.
Did I ever tell the story of the first day I got the car home, all the little meanies that were boycotting my son came around to invite him to play, just cause dad got a Chevelle. I was so proud when he told them no thanks. One of the little drivelling little snots (can I say that? asked me if mine was as fast as a Corvette. I couldn't let him down now could I! :D
It's nice to go to the garage and have the mechanics come over to see how "solid" my car is. Just bragging, but there are some nice finds out there still.

That's me :D lol. yep the old 30 000 original mile 300 deluxe gem .. I found out through further research that the 300 deluxe option was only in canada, and the badges i have are only for my year (sucks that i have to get one replaces, no one makes the emblems reproduction, and considering they were so rare i can't find N.O.S. so i gotta fork out the $$ to get it custom made.) Good thing about the car is it has f-41 suspension and a 12 bolt rear end and it was garage stored for a good 15 years.
Sure it's got 2 more doors, But you know what i don't think i'll ever pull up to a car show and park next to one like mine. smile.gif
oh j.t. drop me a line sometime , i got some pics to show you .. munciepowerd@hotmail.com

4-door Chevelle Apr 5th, 04, 1:17 PM I have been around a while here and I also just noticed this forum. Mine is not pretty right now but it was a Chevelle I could afford about 3 years ago, you can see a couple of pics at www.hopeandcompany.com. (http://www.hopeandcompany.com.) I have been focusing on the mechanics of the car while slowly fixing her up on the outside. I love my Chevelle and it is one in a long line of Chevelles from 1970 to 1973. I also picked up a '70 2-door last year with some frame rot that I may not be able to touch until next year.
Some unique things about 4 doors:
My family can get in and out easily without replacing door pin bushings.
I think there is 4 more inches of Chevelle!
I am the ONLY 4-door Chevelle at the race track.
I have the signon name, "4-door Chevelle" at Team Chevelle!
Who would have ever thought that 4-door could beat me???
It is a Chevelle!!!!!
Cool.....
jtjohnston Apr 6th, 04, 1:14 AM it has f-41 suspension and a 12 bolt rear end and it was garage stored for a good 15 years. You have 12 bolts? I'll have to count 'em smile.gif I'v got the 10 bolt 3.07 mountain gear.
71-307 Apr 6th, 04, 1:37 AM hey 4-door Chevelle i looked on your site i like your car.. i my self have a 71 4 door.. just wondering what your car ran its not that 14.80 i see on the window is it??
4-door Chevelle Apr 6th, 04, 6:41 PM Actually yes, that was my dial-in. All the cars were running fast that beautiful Labor Day 2002. The motor was a stock 350 with Performer, quadrajet, headers, HEI, TH350 and 336 gears.
71-307 Apr 7th, 04, 10:45 AM not to bash your car or anything but isnt that a pretty slow time for a 350 cuz my 307 ran 15.8 but thats with a 1.8 reaction time ( yes i know i suck)
Yes! I love my 4 door and am not afraid to say it. I've heard so many people say "why the heck are you doing that to a 4 door?". I say
1) how many 66 Chevelle 300 4 doors do YOU see crusing down the road? not many, there for this car is ALOT more rare than your 95 civic!
2) Your car can not be concidered a "Famliy Car" when YOU get married!
3) And when all is said and done, That's YOUR crying Import @ss I see in MY rear view!!!!
(hey I like imports, but I LOVE American Muscle!)
4) you got a turbo charger AND a 75 shot of NOS on your 1.8L!!! Boy, all I got is a TWIN Turbo 5.8L!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

4-door Chevelle Apr 12th, 04, 9:12 AM Actually, that time is about right for a mostly stock setup. My '70 I had many moons ago did a best of 14.90. It takes a lot to shave a second off your time.
