a friend claims he knows of a L-79 4-dr. wagon with 4-speed how many were produced if any?

I wouldn't rule out it existance. In high school a friends mom had a 68 4 speed wagon. It would be cool and worth big bucks if documented.

The '68 L79 could be ordered in ANY Chevelle model, including 4-doors, wagons, and El Caminos. All '68 L79s came with manual transmissions. There were 4,082 1968s that were built with L79s. Of those, probably just over 400 were wagons.

The scarcest '68 L79 is probably the 2-door post sedan. I believe Chuck Hanson has one and will have it on display at Chevellabration 2002.

I seen one in Chicago for sale at a place that sold muscle cars a couple years ago. It was from California and pretty loaded with options. I think it had some documentation.
