I paid for a set of doors this weekend, not a really bad price....they are for my 69. The pass door is very nice. The drivers door needs work. There is a hole in the frame of the door, but my old doors are ok at that spot, so I am going to cut out that area and have it welded in. The problem is that I found a 1/4 of an inch of bon-DOH!! on the bottom corner. I already know the answer, but should I sand this down and fix it right? or is it going to be ok? How much do you think I welding shop would charge me to weld this piece in?

Sorry but that filler looks like it was put there to cover the rust bubbling up. Looks like the skin flange is pulling away from the frame. The RIGHT fix is remove old skin and install skin. The rust is coming from the inside out. Sorry but NO amount of grinding is going to fix that rust only new clean metal.

Whats wrong with your old door? If the frame is good why not skin the door and call it good. Goodmark makes skins for the 69. I installed 2 on my 70 and very happy with them.

To me that drivers door is junk!!...Eric
