: any way to save older spray guns? Died in the middle of spraying!

I have three ATD spray guns, one that I used myself for years and two others given to me that are partially apart. Today I tried the one that I had always used since I tried my best to keep it clean. I was spraying some K200 primer surfacer and in the middle of shooting the paint stopped coming out well. I couldnt get a good fan adjustment at all! I had the fluid needle all the way out and the air adjustment was making no changes. The paint was reduced correctly but was coming out so dry I was getting maybe a 3" wide spray out of it. Luckily it was just surfacer and I can sand it down before repriming. Can I save these guns maybe with a rebuild kit? One gun has some left over catalized color in the nozzle, is there any way to get this stuff out once it has hardened up?

regular paint remover will loosen up that old paint, follow up with laquer thinner and reassemble with new seals and it should be fine. Sometimes simple things like a clogged cup vent will kill your flow when spraying- check the gun over and make sure your primer is strained, sometimes a clump of unmixed primer will clog the fluid tip if it gets by the strainer.
